Elemental Drift takes its cue from fractals—patterns in nature that repeat at different scales, from the branching of trees to the structure of coastlines and cells. These forms are never perfectly symmetrical, yet they carry an internal logic that feels both ordered and alive. In this painting, that idea shows up through loosely connected shapes that echo one another without fully resolving, creating a sense of movement and growth. The composition feels like it’s unfolding in real time, where forms emerge, shift, and reappear, much like natural systems that are always in flux.

The palette is soft and grounded, built around layered blues, muted greens, warm browns, and pale neutrals. Acrylic paint is combined with charcoal and graphite to create a balance between fluid, painterly areas and more defined linear moments. Hand embroidery moves through the surface in a quiet but intentional way—sometimes tracing forms, sometimes breaking them—adding texture and a subtle dimensionality. The mix of materials gives the piece a tactile quality that reads as both thoughtful and relaxed.

At 30" x 40", this work is versatile and easy to place. It would sit comfortably in a living room, bedroom, or office where a calm, organic palette is key. This work will soften a more structured space and will complement natural materials like linen, wood, and stone. It works especially well in interiors that lean modern but want a sense of warmth and movement—something that feels collected rather than overly styled.
